Welcome to South Bristol Business
South Bristol Business (SBB) is an informal grouping facilitating Business Networking and Business Support Services. For many years, South Bristol has lacked effective business
promotion, compared with business activities in the more prosperous northern half of the City. South Bristol Business wishes to play an increasing part in changing this trend through a sound
effective Business Voice.
South Bristol Business supports Greater Economic Development - SBB supports the further economic development and business improvement in the wider South Bristol Area, where there is
great potential for increasing the acknowledged need for more business locations, more jobs and employment for local people. In recent years, there has been significant public sector investment in
South Bristol, but private sector investment still needs to follow to develop a truly thriving community.
New Businesses and Jobs - Employment Land is in short supply and a dialogue with planners must be opened up to secure additional employment land if aspirations are to be realised.
New Homes - Meeting the Demand - Potential exists for a greater numbers of new homes to be built in South Bristol and North Somerset with cross boundary cooperation.
Hengrove Park - "The Jewel in the Crown" - Hengrove Park has great leisure and development potential, maybe loosely linking with adjoining developments, perhaps creating a Central Civic Neighbourhood facility.
South Bristol's Poor Transport Links and the South Bristol Link - By general consent, South Bristol suffers from poor transport communications. Since 2009 South Bristol Business
has actively supported the building of the South Bristol Link from Long Ashton to Hengrove Way as a vital first piece of economic infrastructure. South Bristol Business responded positively at all
stages of Consultation, Planning Committees and Public Enquiry. We look forward to its completion in the Winter of 2016.

Transport Issues Again! South Bristol Link can only be a start! South Bristol still lacks eastward connectivity to the M32 via Callington Road and M4/M5 connectivity at Hicks Gate. Finally, and in the longer term, westward connectivity to a suitable M5 junction. Success will provide South Bristol with connectivity long enjoyed in the northern half of the Bristol.
